These are typical guide prices. Your actual price depends on the amount and type of equipment, dismantling needed, stairs and lifts at both ends, distance, parking and whether the move happens out of hours.

What affects the price

  • Number, weight and type of machines
  • How much dismantling and reassembly is needed
  • Stairs, lifts and narrow doorways at either end
  • Distance between sites and parking for the vehicle
  • Free weights, plates and dumbbells, which add a lot of weight
  • Rubber flooring to lift and relay
  • Night or weekend working to avoid closing the gym
  • Disposal of unwanted equipment

Why gym moves cost more than normal removals

Gym equipment is much heavier and more awkward than household furniture, needs specialist handling kit, and often has to be partly dismantled and rebuilt by people who know how the machines go together. Consoles, cables and upholstery are easily damaged if equipment is handled like ordinary furniture.

How to get an accurate price

Send a list of the equipment with makes and models where you know them, both addresses, floor levels, details of stairs and lifts, and photos. That is usually enough for a fixed price.
